| VersaShield
Fire Barrier Fabric is a coated substrate product with unique
fire-resistant qualities.
Are
there other current fire barrier protection methods?
Until now, many have believed the only cost-effective way
to meet the fire barrier requirements of the upcoming mattress
codes is to add fire-retardant chemicals to existing components.
However, the addition of fire-retardant chemicals can make
a mattress less comfortable, plus most customers don't like
the thought of chemicals next to their body when they sleep.
What
makes VersaShield an affordable, more effective option?
With VersaShield, you can produce mattress products that offer
excellent fire protection without changing fabrics, altering
your production methods or other components of the mattress
itself.
How
easy is it to use VersaShield?
Normally, just insert it at the second or third layer. It
will work with any conventional ticking.
How
effective is VersaShield?
VersaShield easily passes the TB 129, TB 603 and UK 6807 tests
for resistance to open flame. In fact, flames consumed a control
mattress without VersaShield in less than three minutes, while
the mattress with VersaShield withstood 60 minutes of continuous
exposure to direct flames and did not flashover.
